Desert Rose: A Trusted Friend

Desert rose has an energy like an old friend.  When I first held this in my hand, I had a sudden feeling that it would be essential to bring on an upcoming trip!  That seems reasonable since it is known to be lucky, and to help with phobias.  I have had a phobia of plane travel for most my life, so it makes since that I should bring Desert Rose with me on future trips.  I also frequent Vegas, and some extra luck in Vegas is always a good thing!  

Desert Rose is a type of selenite gypsum, which is formed in combination with sand and wind.  These combination of earth, wind, and water result in the characteristic brown sandy color, and layers of ridges.  The resulting stone often resembles a rose.  

 

Desert rose has a very calming soothing energy about it.  This is what I describe as "an old friend."  It has a warmth, and comforting energy. It eases and comforts, but also uplifts.  I find desert rose to have a great ability to lift my mood and to clear my mind.  In fact, I was actually quite blocked writing this piece until I grabbed my piece of desert rose and focused on it for a few moments.  I encourage you to meditate with it by allowing your eyes to follow around all of the intricate designs!
